Fichtelgebirge Nature Park covers an area of approximately 102,000 acres in northeastern Bavaria, Germany. The park encompasses the Fichtelgebirge mountain range, characterized by its granite peaks, rolling hills, and expansive forests dominated by spruce, fir, and beech trees. The highest point in the park is Schneeberg, rising to 1,051 meters (3,448 ft) above sea level. The park is notable for its unique geology, including granite rock formations and historical mining sites. Ecologically, it is home to diverse fauna such as red deer, wild boar, and a variety of bird species including the black stork and peregrine falcon. The area’s habitat diversity includes dense forests, moorlands, streams, and waterfalls.

Recreation opportunities abound with over 1,000 kilometers of marked trails offering routes for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing in winter.
